Maxillofacial

We work with some of the most courageous and forward-thinking maxillofacial surgeons dealing with the most serious and complex facial trauma patients to produce custom made titanium implants for orofacial reconstruction.

In doing so, we use the latest stereoscopic lithography techniques to create functional anatomic models from which we produce exact implants for facial reconstruction and craniofacial surgery, in the following cases:
• excision of orofacial tumours
• cases of severe orofacial trauma
• congenital facial anomalies
• craniofacial skull base surgery
• reconstructive surgery of the head and neck

The successful use of our maxillofacial implants provides the following benefits:
• treatment in cases previously thought impossible using existing interventions
• creation of simpler procedures
• single intervention instead of staged multiple interventions
• promotion of normal aesthetics and functional rehabilitation

We are able to produce complex geometric implants (with stabilising titanium screws) to replace facial features with very precise implant/bone margins at short notice. This fundamental value of haste and accuracy is an integral part of our commitment to the professionals we work with and to the patients they serve – and is something that we are very proud of.

In the UK oral cancers make up 1% of all new cancers, with 3400 new oral cancers notified each year, and 1600 deaths. There are approximately 55 new cases of oral cancer per million of population each year.1 Approximately, 500,000 patients experience facial trauma as a result of accident each year, of which 0.3% have major facial trauma.2 In the UK in 2001, the number of congenital facial anomalies reported to the Office of National Statistics was 825 live births.
